Energy recovery

Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-009557

1. To capture energy from waste through any of a variety of processes (e.g., burning). Many new technology incinerators are waste-to-energy recovery units.

2. Energy recovery is the process of obtaining energy from combusted material, including at waste-to-energy combustion facilities and landfill-gas-to-energy facilities. It is often associated with electricity generation, although it can also offset fossil fuels used at industrial sites.

3. Obtaining energy from waste through a variety of processes (e.g. combustion).

4. Process of obtaining energy from combusted material, including at waste-to-energy combustion facilities and landfill-gas-to-energy facilities. It is often associated with electricity generation, although it can also offset fossil fuels used at industrial sites.

5. Process of recovering thermal energy from combustion for useful purposes such as steam generation or process heating.
