Evaporative Emissions

1. Evaporative emissions are from fuel evaporating from vehicle carburetors or fuel systems. Evaporative emissions can occur while vehicles are refueling, operating, or even when vehicles are parked.

2. Hydrocarbons emitted into the atmosphere from a motor vehicle, other than exhaust and crankcase emissions. [40 CFR 86.1803-01 (CFR 2018)]
