Evaporative Fuel Emissions
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-010205
1. Relating to fuel emissions that result from permeation of fuel through the portable fuel container materials and from ventilation of the container.
2. Relating to fuel emissions controlled by 40 CFR part 1060. This generally includes emissions that result from permeation of fuel through the fuel-system materials or from ventilation of the fuel system.[40 CFR 1045.801 (CFR 2013)]
3. Relating to fuel emissions that result from permeation of fuel through the fuel system materials and from ventilation of the fuel system.
4. Chemical compounds emitted into the atmosphere by vaporization of contents of a fuel or additive/fuel mixture.
5. Evaporative emissions are from fuel evaporating from vehicle carburetors or fuel systems. Evaporative emissions can occur while vehicles are refueling, operating, or even when vehicles are parked.
