Exposure Characterization

1. A portion of the analysis phase of ecological risk assessment that evaluates the interaction of the stressor with one or more ecological components. Exposure can be expressed as co-occurrence, or contact depending on the stressor and ecological component involved.
2. Characterization of concentrations of pollutants in the atmosphere and environment and how much humans and ecosystems are exposed to them through inhalation and deposition, respectively.
