exposure model
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-010490
1. The primary objective of exposure modeling is to estimate the dose of pollutant which humans or animals are exposed to via inhalation, ingestion and/or dermal uptake. Exposure models bridge the gap between concentrations of pollutants in the environment and the doses humans receive based on their activity.
2. A conceptual or mathematical representation of the exposure process. [IPCS 2004]
3. The mathematical equations simulating how people interact with chemicals in their environment. [EPA 2004]
