Fish Kill

1. When aquatic life within a river, lake, or stream dies in a mass extinction.
2. The sudden death of fish due to natural causes, pollutants, or environmental factors such as the reduction of the dissolved oxygen concentration in a body of water.
3. Large numbers of dead fish in a localized area - may be due to water conditions such as low flow, high temperature, low oxygen levels, harmful algal blooms, or spills of oil or toxic pollutants.
