1. The area to which an animal confines its activities. (PERTAINING TO ECOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS)
2. The undefended area in which an animal performs its daily activities: primarily foraging, but also finding shelter, mating, etc.; this is opposed to a territory which is defended and is generally smaller than a home range.
3. An area to which an individual organism restricts most of its usual activities.
4. The geographic area in which a plant or animal lives.
