1. Work-related event(s) in which an injury or ill health (regardless of severity) or fatality occurred, or could have occurred.
2. Occurrence or event - natural, technological, or human-caused - that requires a response to protect life, property, or the environment (e.g., major disasters, emergencies, terrorist attacks, terrorist threats, civil unrest, wildland and urban fires, floods, hazardous materials spills, nuclear accidents, aircraft accidents, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, tropical storms, tsunamis, war-related disasters, public health and medical emergencies, other occurrences requiring an emergency response).
3. A human-caused or natural occurrence, such as wildland fire, that requires emergency service action to prevent or reduce the loss of life or damage to property or natural resources.
4. Incident means activities involving fatalities, injuries, illnesses, significant exposures, near misses, and property damage that must be investigated to determine the root cause and correct any underlying concerns.
