Incurred Compound

1. A compound that is present in a sample without addition by the laboratory. The compound may be essentially alien, but has been introduced to the bulk material at some point prior to the material being sampled. Recovery of added (e.g., spiked or fortified) compound may be different from incurred compound. {OPP}
