Laboratory Fortified Blank (radiochemistry)

The LFB consists of a volume of a blank matrix to which a known activity of a radioisotope is added. The LFB is prepared and analyzed and results calculated exactly like a sample, and its purpose is to determine whether the methodology is in control, and whether the laboratory is capable of making accurate measurements. {OW/TSC}
