Large Hospital/Medical/Infectious Waste Incinerator

1. Except as provided in (2);(i) An HMIWI whose maximum design waste burning capacity is more than 500 pounds per hour; or(ii) A continuous or intermittent HMIWI whose maximum charge rate is more than 500 pounds per hour; or(iii) A batch HMIWI whose maximum charge rate is more than 4,000 pounds per day.(2) The following are not large HMIWI:(i) A continuous or intermittent HMIWI whose maximum charge rate is less than or equal to 500 pounds per hour; or(ii) A batch HMIWI whose maximum charge rate is less than or equal to 4,000 pounds per day.

2. Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this definition; (i) An HMIWI whose maximum design waste burning capacity is more than 500 pounds per hour; or (ii) A continuous or intermittent HMIWI whose maximum charge rate is more than 500 pounds per hour; or (iii) A batch HMIWI whose maximum charge rate is more than 4,000 pounds per day.
