Lixiviant

1. A solution of water or steam, possibly mixed with other chemicals, that is injected through an injection well into a formation to extract minerals in solution mining operations.

2. A liquid medium that selectively extracts the desired metal from the ore or material to be leached rapidly and completely, and from which the desired metal can be recovered in a concentrated form.
