Maximum Acceptable Toxic Concentration

1. For a particular ecological effects test, this term is used to mean either the range between the NOAEL and the LOAEL or the geometric mean of the NOAEL and the LOAEL. The geometric mean is also known as the chronic value.
2. For a given ecological effects test, the range (or geometric mean) between the No Observable Adverse Effect Level and the Lowest Observable Adverse Effects Level.
