Mechanical ventilation

1. The use of fans, either electric or pneumatic, to ventilate houses.
2. Controlled air movement driven by fans. Also referred to as forced ventilation.
3. Devices such as bathroom or kitchen fans that vent to the outdoors, or heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems with a fresh air intake.
