Method Detection Limit
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-017125
1. The minimum concentration of a substance that can be measured and reported with 99 percent confidence that the analyte concentration is greater than zero and is determined from analysis of a sample in a given matrix containing the analyte.
2. The method detection limit (MDL) is defined as the minimum concentration of a substance that can be measured and reported with 99% confidence that the analyte concentration is greater than zero and is determined from analysis of a sample in a given matrix containing the analyte. {OW/EAD} {OPP} {OPP}
3. Minimum concentration of a substance that can be measured and reported with 99% confidence that the analyte concentration is greater than zero and is determined from analysis of a sample in a given matrix containing the analyte. The MDL is determined using the procedure at 40 CFR 136, Appendix B.
4. Minimum concentration of an analyte that can be determined with 99 percent confidence that the true value is greater than zero. [40 CFR 63.861 (CFR 2013)]
5. Lowest concentration of analyte that a method can detect reliably in either a sample or blank.
6. The minimum concentration of a substance that can be measured and reported with 99% confidence that the analyte concentration is greater than zero and is determined from analysis of a sample in a given matrix containing the analyte.
7. The method detection limit (MDL) is defined as the minimum concentration of a substance that can be measured and reported with 99% confidence that the analyte concentration is greater than zero and is determined from analysis of a sample in a given matrix containing the analyte.[Forum on Environmental Measurements (FEM) Glossary]
8. The lowest concentration of a hazardous substance that a method can detect reliably in either a sample or blank.
