Native nuisance animal

Aquatic animals that are native to the region (not brought in from elsewhere) but have become too crowded in the waterway. Overgrowth can interfere with oxygen levels in the water, threaten survival of fish and other animals, make waterways unattractive, reduce property value, and degrade or prevent recreational uses including swimming, fishing, and boating.
