Nephelometric

1. (NEFF-el-o-MET-rick) A means of measuring turbidity in a sample by using an instrument called a nephelometer. A nephelometer passes light through a sample and the amount of light deflected (usually at a 90 degree angle) is then measured.
2. Method of measuring turbidity in a water sample by passing light through the sample and measuring the amount of the light that is deflected.
