Nonsealed DP tools

Sampling tools that are not sealed as they are advanced through the soil. Examples of these tools are barrel samplers and split-barrel samplers. Can yield erroneous chemical results because samples collected with these devices can be a composite of samples from different horizons. Can result in cross-contamination of samples.
