    2. A general name for agricultural chemicals that include: Herbicide, Insecticide, Fungicide, Nematocide, and Rodenticide.

    3. A pesticide is a substance or mixture of substances intended to prevent or mitigate infestation by, or destroy or repel, any pest. Pesticides can accumulate in the food chain and or contaminate the environment if misused.

    4. Substances or mixture there of intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest. Also, any substance or mixture intended for use as a plant regulator, defoliant, or desiccant.

    5. An agent used to control pests. This includes insecticides for use against harmful insects; herbicides for weed control; fungicides for control of plant diseases; rodenticides for killing rats, mice, etc.; and germicides used in disinfectant products, algaecides, slimicides, etc. Some pesticides can contaminate water, air or soil and accumulate in man, animals and the environment, particularly if they are misused. Certain of these chemicals have been shown to interfere with the reproductive processes of predatory birds and possibly other animals.

    6. Any substance or chemical designed or formulated to kill or control weeds or animal pests.

    7. Substance intended to control, prevent, or kill a pest.

    8. Substance or mixture there of intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest. Also, any substance or mixture intended for use as a plant regulator, defoliant, or desiccant.

    9. Any substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest, or intended for use as a plant regulator, defoliant, or desiccant, other than any article that:(1) Is a new animal drug under FFDCA sec. 201(w), or(2) Is an animal drug that has been determined by regulation of the Secretary of Health and Human Services not to be a new animal drug, or(3) Is an animal feed under FFDCA sec. 201(x) that bears or contains any substances described by paragraph (s) (1) or (2) of this section.

    10. Pesticide product which is or was registered by EPA, and each active ingredient, inert ingredient, impurity, metabolite, contaminant or degradate contained in, or derived from, such pesticide product.

    11. Meaning contained in the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, 7 U.S.C. 136 et seq., and the regulations issued thereunder.

    12. Any substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest, or intended for use as a plant regulator, defoliant, or desiccant, other than any article that:(a) Is a new animal drug under FFDCA section 201(w), or(b) Is an animal drug that has been determined by regulation of the Secretary of Health and Human Services not to be a new animal drug, or(c) Is an animal feed under FFDCA section 201(x) that bears or contains any substances described by paragraph (a) or (b) of this section.

    13. Any substance defined as a “pesticide” in section 2(u) of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (7 U.S.C. 136(u)).

    14. Any substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest.

    15. Meaning contained in the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, 7 U.S.C. 136 et seq. and the regulations issued under it.

    16. Demeton, guthion, malathion, mirex, methoxychlor, and parathion.

    17. Substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest, or intended for use as a plant regulator, defoliant, or desiccant, other than any article that: (1) Is a new animal drug under FFDCA section 201(w), or (2) Is an animal drug that has been determined by regulation of the Secretary of Health and Human Services not to be a new animal drug, or (3) Is an animal feed under FFDCA section 201(x) that bears or contains any substances described by paragraph (1) or (2) of this definition. See 40 CFR 273.9

    18. Substance or mixture of substances intended to prevent, destroy, repel, or mitigate any species designated as a "pest." Substances include insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, rodenticides, and bactericides.

    19. Substance or mixture of substances meeting the definition in 7 U.S.C. 136(u) (Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, section 2(u)).

    20. Any substance or mixture of substances meeting the definition in 7 U.S.C. 136(u) (Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, section 2(u)).

    21. General term that describes the chemical substances used to destroy or control insect or plant pests. Many pesticides are manufactured and do not occur naturally in the environment. Others are natural toxins that are extracted from plants and animals.

    22. A pesticide is any substance or mixture of substances intended to prevent, destroy, repel, or mitigate any species designated as a "pest." Substances include insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, rodenticides, and bactericides.

    23. A substance used for keeping pests away, killing them, or reducing their numbers. EPA registers - or licenses - pesticides.

    24. A pesticide is any chemical used to prevent, destroy, repel, or mitigate pests.

  2. 1. Substances or mixture there of intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest. Also, any substance or mixture intended for use as a plant regulator, defoliant, or desiccant.

    2. Chemicals used to destroy or control plant, fungus, or animal pests.

    3. A general term that describes the chemical substances used to destroy or control insect or plant pests. Many pesticides are manufactured and do not occur naturally in the environment. Others are natural toxins that are extracted from plants and animals.

    4. Chemical compounds used to control insects and other organisms that may reduce agricultural productivity; most are toxic.

    5. Any substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest, or intended for use as a plant regulator, defoliant, or desiccant, other than any article that: (1) Is a new animal drug under FFDCA section 201(w), or (2) Is an animal drug that has been determined by regulation of the Secretary of Health and Human Services not to be a new animal drug, or (3) Is an animal feed under FFDCA section 201(x) that bears or contains any substances described by paragraph (1) or (2) of this definition. See 40 CFR 273.9.
