Plug Flow

1. A type of flow that occurs in tanks, basins or reactors when a slug of water moves through a tank without ever dispersing or mixing with the rest of the water flowing through the tank.

3. A flow regime where the flow is predominately in one direction and contaminants are swept along with the flow.
