Pseudoreplication
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-022669
1. The treatment of multiple samples from the same sample unit as replicates for statistical purposes. For example, multiple benthic invertebrate samples taken in a single channelized stream are pseudo-replicates because the stream channel (the hypothesized cause) has not been replicated. True replicates would be taken from multiple channelized streams.
