Quality Assurance Officer

In many organizations, this role is known as the QAM or QA Manager. In EPA, the QAO is the person who oversees all aspects of quality system activities within a program office (e.g., the Office of Wastewater Management or the Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water). The QAO ensures that appropriate quality system requirements are included in all contract solicitations, assistance agreements, and interagency agreements which entail data collection, and that those requirements are met. The QAO assists the QAC, staff scientists and project managers in identifying needs for and developing quality policies and documents and in obtaining answers to technical quality questions.
