Rough Fish

1. Those fish species considered to be of poor fighting quality when taken on tackle or of poor eating quality (gar, suckers, etc.). Most rough fish are more tolerant of widely changing environmental conditions than are game fish.
2. Fish not prized for sport or eating, such as gar and suckers. Most are more tolerant of changing environmental conditions than are game or food species.
