1. A reproductively isolated aggregate of interbreeding organisms having common attributes and usually designated by a common name.
2. An organism belonging to belonging to such a category.
3. A group of individuals that can interbreed successfully with one another, but not with members of other groups. Plants and animals are identified as belonging to a given species on the basis of similar morphological, genetic, and biochemical characteristics.
4. A group of organisms that actually or potentially interbreed and are reproductively isolated from all other such groups; a taxonomic grouping of morphologically similar individuals; the category below genus.
5. A reproductively isolated aggregate of interbreeding organisms.
6. A group of organisms made up of similar individuals that are capable of breeding with one another.
7. An organism belonging to such a category.
8. An individual molecule or chemical compound.
9. Group of organisms all of which have a high degree of physical and genetic similarity, generally breed only among themselves, and show persistent differences from members of allied groups of organisms.
10. Group of organisms made up of similar individuals that are capable of breeding with one another.
