Stratified Sampling

1. Sampling of distinct homogeneous subpopulations in the overall population. Every overall population point must be put into one and only one subpopulation.

2. Sampling area is subdivided into separate strata (for example, within or outside the ventilation zone) and a sampling approach is implemented separately within each stratum. [EPA QA/G-5S ; EPA/600/R-18/164]
