Submerged Aquatic Vegetation Habitat

Vascular plants that grow below the surface of the water on soft sediments in sheltered shallow waters of estuaries, bays, lagoons, and lakes.; these plants are usually completely inundated throughout the growing season. Some SAV habitats may contain a mix of open water and rooted, floating-leaved, and short-emergent vegetation.
