Threshold
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-028022
1. The dose or exposure below which no deleterious effect is expected to occur.
2. The lowest dose of a chemical at which a specified measurable effect is observed and below which it is not observed.
3. An abrupt change in ecological, social or economic systems in space or time, often not easily reversed (and sometimes never reversible) and often with persistent consequences.
4. The dose or exposure level below which a significant adverse effect is not expected.
5. Dose or exposure concentration of an agent below which a stated effect is not observed or expected to occur.
6. in climate change studies, a threshold generally refers to the point at which the climate system begins to change in a marked way because of increased forcing; crossing a climate threshold triggers a transition to a new state of the system at a generally faster rate.
7. Threshold Dose/Threshold - The lowest dose of a chemical at which a specified measurable effect is observed and below which it is not observed.
