1. A clean sample of a matrix that is taken from the laboratory to the sampling site and transported back to the laboratory without having been exposed to sampling procedures. The sample is not opened in the field. (Typically required when analyzing for volatile compounds.) The purpose of the trip blank is to assess contamination introduced during shipping and storage. {OW/TSC}
