Wellfield Rotation Program
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-030314
Program in which part of a wellfield is used for a given interval of time and then another part is used. Generally, a pattern is repeated until every supply well has been used, and then the entire cycle is repeated. Rotation programs are used to minimize drawdown interference and to maximize efficient use of water in relation to varying water demand. Do not consider a well that is part of a planned wellfield rotation program a standby well.
