XML document

An XML document is a file containing data organized into a structured document using XML markup. An XML document is considered to be "well-formed" if it conforms to all XML syntax rules. An XML document is considered to be "valid" if it conforms to all the semantic rules defined by an associated XML schema. An XML document cannot be processed if it is not well-formed or valid. XML documents have the file extension .xml.
