Aircraft station

A specific, numbered location along the longitudinal axis of an aircraft's fuselage, used as a reference point for measurement and component placement. These stations, also called fuselage stations, are measured in inches from a zero reference point known as the datum, which is typically located at or near the aircraft's nose. Drawings and maintenance manuals use station numbers to specify the exact location for structural members, equipment installation, and repairs.
