Asymmetric digital subscriber line

A technology that transmits digital data over standard copper telephone lines at different speeds for sending and receiving information. It prioritizes downstream data flow, providing higher bandwidth from the network to the user than in the reverse direction. This characteristic makes it suitable for internet access where downloads are more frequent and larger than uploads, with typical downstream speeds up to 8 Mbps.
