DSL
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001900
A family of technologies that carries digital data over the copper wires of the local telephone network. In ADSL, the data uses frequency bands above the voice band, and a splitter or filter separates them so one line can carry a telephone call and an internet connection at once. ADSL offers downstream rates up to 8 Mbit/s under its original standard and much lower upstream rates, while SDSL gives equal rates in both directions.
