Bill of materials

A hierarchical list of all the items required to produce a product, including raw materials, assemblies, and individual components. A bill of materials (BOM) specifies the quantity of each item needed to manufacture one unit of the final product. This document is a foundational part of manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems, guiding purchasing, production scheduling, and inventory control processes.
