Describing an element within a graphical user interface, such as a button or icon on a machine's control panel, that is programmed to respond to user input from a touch or pointing device. An operator interacts with a clickable element to execute a command, navigate to another screen, or change a setting. These active components are visually differentiated from non-clickable text or graphics that serve only to display information.
