A network of remote servers hosted on the internet for storing, managing, and processing data, rather than on a local server or computer. In industrial settings, the cloud facilitates the collection and analysis of large data sets from sensors and machinery, enabling remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and control. Access to these computing services is provided on demand by third-party providers, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
