A visible mass of water droplets or ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere, formed when water vapor condenses around microscopic particles. These atmospheric formations are classified by their appearance and altitude, such as cumulus, stratus, and cirrus. Clouds are a major component of the Earth's hydrological cycle.
