Cloud point

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002138

The temperature at which a polymer solution, initially homogeneous, begins to show turbidity due to phase separation. This phenomenon occurs as the temperature is changed, leading to the formation of distinct polymer-rich and solvent-rich phases. The cloud point is a characteristic property used to assess the compatibility of polymers with solvents.
