Synthetic method
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011771
A family of solubility measurements that start from a solution of known composition and locate the point where a phase appears or disappears. In the isothermal version, one liquid is added dropwise to another at fixed temperature until lasting cloudiness shows the cloud point. In the polythermal version, a mixture is heated until it is clear and then cooled slowly, and the temperature at which the first turbidity or crystal appears is recorded for that composition.
