Turbidity of water

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012364

A measure of the cloudiness or haziness of water caused by the presence of suspended particles that scatter light. These particles can include clay, silt, organic matter, and microorganisms, reducing the clarity of the water. Turbidity is typically measured in Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU) using a turbidimeter.
