Turbidity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012363
The reduction of light transmission through a fluid due to scattering by suspended particles. It quantifies the cloudiness or haziness of a sample, which arises from light being deflected rather than passing directly through. Turbidity is measured using a turbidimeter, with results often expressed in Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU).
