Container port

A maritime terminal facility specifically equipped to handle intermodal freight containers transferred between ships, trucks, and trains. These ports feature specialized equipment such as large ship-to-shore gantry cranes, straddle carriers, and extensive paved areas for container storage. The world's busiest container ports are measured by their annual throughput in twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU).
