Dram

A small, open-topped wagon or tub used in coal mines for transporting coal from the working face to the main haulage ways or shafts. It is typically pulled along rails by ponies, locomotives, or ropes. The capacity of a dram varied, but it was a standard unit for measuring coal output in historical mining.
