DRAM
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000341
A type of random-access memory that holds each bit of data within a separate integrated circuit capacitor. Because capacitors leak charge, the information eventually fades unless the memory controller periodically refreshes the charge in a process that gives Dynamic RAM its name. Its high density and low cost per bit make it the dominant technology for the main system memory in modern computers.
