Memory leak
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000735
An accumulation of memory that a computer program allocates but fails to release back to the operating system. This occurs when a program loses its reference to a block of memory, making it inaccessible for future use or deallocation. Over time, this can lead to reduced system performance or application crashes as available memory diminishes.
