To finish a fabric by abrading its surface with a series of rollers covered in emery paper or another abrasive material. This mechanical process raises fine fibers, creating a soft, sueded texture known as a peach-skin or chamois finish. The level of abrasion can be controlled to produce varying degrees of softness and surface appearance on textiles like cotton, silk, or synthetic microfibers.
