Duvetyn
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001923
A twill-weave fabric, typically made from cotton, with a napped surface on one side that creates a soft, suede-like feel. Its matte finish is achieved by brushing the fabric to raise the short fibers from the yarn. Due to its opacity and light-absorbing properties, duvetyn is frequently used for theatrical curtains, stage backdrops, and blackout draperies in photography and film production.
