Gassing

A finishing process in textile manufacturing where fabric or yarn is passed rapidly through a flame to burn off protruding fibers and fuzz. This process, also known as singeing, creates a smoother surface, reduces pilling, and improves the clarity of printed designs. Gassing is commonly applied to cotton and other cellulosic fibers.
