Fair Isle

A traditional knitting technique that uses multiple colors to create intricate patterns, typically geometric motifs, across a row. Only two colors are worked in any single row, with unused colors carried loosely across the back of the fabric. This method originated on Fair Isle, a small island in Scotland.
