Intarsia
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003039
A knitting technique used to create patterns with multiple colors without carrying unused yarns across the back of the work. Each color block is knitted from a separate small ball of yarn, and the yarns are twisted together at the color changes to prevent holes. This method results in a fabric with distinct, isolated areas of color, often used for geometric or pictorial designs.
